It come with the Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion installer. It takes unfathomable patience to use X11 because it is designed by geeks for geeks, not for average or even intermediate users. I also have unfathomably patience setting up this geek level stuff. But I am a geek and I have taken the time to learn how to use this. Don't write a one star review out of ignorance. If you don't know what X11 is, if you don't know what MacPorts are or what Fink/Porticus/PortAuthority/Pallet are, then don't download XQuartz. It requires knowledge of using the CLI found in the Terminal app for full capability. The XQuartz project is typically well ahead of what Apple provide. This is where Apple contributes to and sources what they provide with Mac OS X as X11. The final release of 2.6.3 included additional patches for the server (past xorg-server-1.10.3) and security fixes for libpng.This IS X11. This version includes xorg-server-1.10.2 with some additional patches. fontconfig and a few other libraries were updated as well. In addition, libXplugin and quartz-wm were updated to address some issues with Exposé and wine. This version includes xorg-server-1.4.2-apple56 which pulls in many (but not all) server fixes that landed in our 2.5.1 release. ![]() This version includes xorg-server-1.4.2-apple53 which pulls in many (but not all) server fixes that landed in our 2.5.0 release. Most of the userland libraries in this version are identical to what was shipped in 2.4.0 with a few exceptions. It contains all the fixes that went into Xplugin, quartz-wm, and most of the server fixes, but it is still on the 1.4 server branch (using xorg-server-1.4.2-apple45). Not surprisingly, this version lies between 2.3.3.2 and 2.4.0. Install the latest release from this site.ġ0.6 contains version 2.3.4 of X11.
